At the recent FP&A Trends webinar on the 11th of October, senior finance practitioners from the field shared their experience on how to navigate Intelligent Transformation with the FP&A Trends Maturity Model.
This paper explores the What, Why, and How of Intelligent Transformation, emphasising three interpersonal dimensions in the FP&A Trends Maturity Model.
We collaborated with 27 global finance leaders, held live discussions within the 30 chapters of the International FP&A Board, across 16 countries and four continents, and merged their insights with seven years of survey data.
Our research paper explores the combination of PA with xP&A and how organisations are using this combination to transform their planning and forecasting processes to create a more analytical and harmonised approach.
The FP&A Business Partnering Maturity Model, developed by the International FP&A Board, evaluates an organisation's maturity in six dimensions of FP&A Business Partnering and enables them to create a transformation plan. By assessing their approach, knowledge, influence, skills, analytics, and technology, organisations can improve their FP&A capabilities and drive strategic decision-making.
The findings from this research provide insights in explaining the Strategy-Execution Gap and, more importantly, how to close the gap using modern FP&A techniques, processes, and technology.
Research for this paper focused on delving deeper into the most mature level – Level 5, Leading State. The purpose was to provide a road map for FP&A Intelligent Transformation that guides departments in how best they can serve their organisations.
