AI/ML FP&A Committee Meeting #21

The AI/ML FP&A Committee conducted Meeting #21 on November 15th, 2023, featuring a presentation titled "Digital Transformation & Data-Driven Decision-Making" by Andreas Seufert, Professor and Director of the Business Innovation Lab at Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society.

Professor Seufert's presentation delved into the imminent changes arising from digital transformation and its significant impact on the economy. He emphasised the necessity to reevaluate data-driven decision-making within the FP&A community. Key points covered during the presentation included the fundamental shifts in digital transformation, the inadequacy of traditional analytic approaches, and the crucial need for FP&A to invest in ML/AI capabilities, illustrated through a Sales Planning use case.

Andreas Seufert

Andreas Seufert is a Professor at Ludwigshafen University of Applied Sciences and is the Director of the Business Innovation Lab and Co-Chair of the AI/ML FP&A Committee. He also heads the Analytics + Controlling Expert Group of the International Controller Association (ICV).

Professor Dr. Seufert studied Business Administration at the University of Nuremberg and earned his Ph.D. at the University of St. Gallen. After his Ph.D., he was a lecturer and researcher at the University of St. Gallen and completed the Faculty Development Program at Massachusetts Institute of Technology / Sloan School of Management.

He has advised numerous large international companies and has written over 200 publications. His main fields of interest are Business Intelligence, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning - Corporate Controlling/  Digital Transformation - and driven Business Models / Business Model Innovation.
