We are happy to share that the International FP&A Board has successfully expanded into the United States. It was launched in New York on 6th April 2017. The mission of the International FP&A Board is to guide the development and promotion of best practices in global FP&A, identify and support new trends, skillsets and innovations. And that is exactly what board chapters in 11 cities of Europe, the Middle East, Asia and now the USA are about.
24 FP&A professionals from such leading companies as AllianceBernstein, BNY Mellon, CBS Interactive, Moody’s Analytics, S&P Global, The Economist, Zurich, etc., gathered to discuss the latest global trends in modern Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A).
The event was sponsored by Tagetik, the market leader in corporate performance management solutions, Michael Page, one of the world's leading professional recruitment consultancies, and the Association for Financial Professionals (AFP), the provider of the international FP&A Certification.
At the very beginning the board found themselves on common ground on FP&A key definitions and developments. Then the interactive discussion focused on the latest major trends in FP&A (see the figure below).
Furthermore, the keynote speaker of the event Jose Nazario, Global GCB FP&A CCAR Head at Citigroup, shared his company’s experience in FP&A.
Afterwards, the FP&A Analytics Maturity Model, developed by London FP&A Board in spring 2016, was presented. The participants were engaged in group work assessing where their companies were on maturity ladder and the steps to be taken to arrive at the leading stage.
The meeting conclusions are summarized at the figure below.
The discussion and networking part of the meeting proved to be very productive. The members enjoyed the opportunity to collaborate with each other and discuss the latest megatrends and best practices in FP&A, sharpen their roles as FP&A professionals.
