On 16th March 2017 the second meeting of the Brussels FP&A Board, launched in November 2016, took place at the exclusive Business Club van Lotharingen in Brussels. It gathered 25 financial planning and analysis (FP&A) professionals from such companies as ING, J&J, Mastercard, to name but a few. As the mission of the International FP&A Board is to guide the development and promotion of best practices in global FP&A, identify and support new trends, skillsets and innovations, FP&A Analytical Transformation became the primary focus of the discussion in Brussels.
The event was sponsored by Tagetik, the market leader in corporate performance management solutions, Page Group, one of the world’s best-known and most respected recruitment consultancies, and the Association for Financial Professionals (AFP), the provider of the international FP&A Certification.
The Analytical Maturity of FP&A was the subject of the second FP&A Board meeting in Brussels. Firstly, the FP&A Board focused on the concept of Advanced Analytics for FP&A. Then the Board looked closely into FP&A Analytics Maturity Model and discussed different sides of the FP&A Analytical Transformation.
We were proud to have Thomas Lundell, Director of FP&A and Business Control (EMEA) at NetApp as a key speaker of the event after his successful presentation at Amsterdam FP&A Board. He presented NetApp case study "FP&A Transformation: Becoming Agile, Adaptable and Predictive" sharing his solid experience in transforming FP&A Operating Model. Afterwards, the participants were engaged into group work on applying the suggested cutting-edge approach to fine-tuning and enhancement of their current FP&A Operating Models. As a result of this collaboration the Board arrived at the conclusion that FP&A Transformation goes far beyond the Analytics itself involving People, Process, Technology, Business Partnering.
The discussion and networking part of the meeting was very productive. The members enjoyed the opportunity to collaborate with each other and discuss the latest FP&A trends and best practices as well as being a part of our global FP&A community.
