At the 29th AI FP&A Committee Meeting on December 3rd, 2025, Adam Hancock, Vice President, FP&A at EBSCO Industries, Inc., shared an insightful presentation titled "Bridging Today and Tomorrow: FP&A's Strategic Adoption of Present and Future AI Capabilities."
Adam Hancock delivered a grounded and insightful session on how his FP&A team at EBSCO Industries is strategically adopting AI as a practical tool used in daily operations across 14 diverse portfolio companies. With various tools, they can search through data, emails, and documents in seconds using plain-language questions. AI agents help summarise long reports into clear takeaways, saving hours each month. They are also exploring tools that match internal sales data with external trends to improve planning and spot risks early.
Adam also highlighted several challenges, including poor data readiness, security concerns, tool overload, limited adoption, occasional AI inaccuracies, and difficulties with agent coordination.
Looking ahead, Adam sees a future where finance teams can build tools with simple prompts, let AI handle the routine work, and focus their energy on strategic thinking. His advice was simple: stay curious, start small, fix your data, and do not be afraid to experiment.
The presentation sparked a lively and insightful discussion, with participants sharing both technical and cultural challenges around adoption, data security, and ROI. One thing was clear: AI is not a distant future—it is already here, and FP&A teams are in the best position to shape its impact.
